Art - Read more

I have nicknamed what I do, 'Psyche-art'. It combines my interest in psychology and in art where 'psyche' is taken to mean mind, body, emotions and soul. My work explores both the psyche of the individual and of the group.

I want to facilitate consideration of the themes that reflect our life processes - our growing, our hurting, our searching, our loving, our grieving, our healing... in our evolving 'selves' - so that through our experience of broken-ness and alienation we can come into healing processes that lead us to remember our real nature, which is whole and limitless, full of creative potential.

There is perhaps only one underlying 'Truth' and in our attempts to uncover that Truth, many different viewpoints may arise which often cause friction. My hope and belief is that this friction though seemingly necessary at this time, is part of a much larger picture and purpose, one where during the process we will mature as individuals and as interdependent communities and nations, becoming more holistic, tolerant, patient, integrated and loving along the way.

I try to convey life not only as I see, feel and experience it but also as it is, in its authentic form. This permits me to have artistic expression and perspective as well as providing space for the actuality, the reality of others. So as well as my own interpretations which I present through paintings (oils, wax and dye) and sculptures, often, I also like to show the reality of others through video and/or photography.

I have found that the more I live and uncover my deeper, inner 'Self', the more I connect with my 'veexpression' - and this develops as I grow and transform. It is a dance between my more personal vee self and an expanding trust in the guidance of an absolute power. Life as I see it, is a process in which with attention and intention, it can be lived in a clearer and more honest way. I hope to unveil this in myself more and more and trust that through the years my work will reflect this too.
